ericisadrug: The story behind “Set Fire To The Rain” “We were at that stage in our relationship where everything was getting a bit tedious and the smallest thing sparked a row. We were standing outside this restaurant and I was trying to light a cigarette, and it started raining. And any smokers, you know, when a lighter gets wet it doesn’t work. Any candle lovers as well, it’s not only for cigarettes. So my lighter wasn’t working and that triggered off an argument, he started calling me an “idiot” and a “dickhead”, cause I was trying to light a cigarette with a broken lighter. So I was about to walk away from the argument, as the loser; and then my lighter lit, I lit my cigarette, and I walked off. I do think the song sounds a bit more glamourous than what inspired it.” -ADELE
